Max Kolb's Story
Max Kolb, a student at Hofstra University, was an aspiring filmmaker
who managed to make a lasting impression on his professors and fellow
students in his short time at Hofstra.
Max grew up in suburban Boston and attended public schools
in Watertown and Newton, Mass. He attended Hofstra after
his graduation from Newton North High School in 1999.
Max was an enthusiastic fan - and student - of motion pictures.
While at Hofstra, he got the chance to learn the techniques
of filmmaking in the School of Communication. He achieved
excellent grades at Hofstra, not only in School of
Communication courses, but in computer science and other
academic studies. His family established this Endowment
to honor Max's memory after his tragic death in 2001.
Although it is nine years later, Hofstra television students still come together
at the end of each year to produce the Max Kolb Telethon in his honor.
More of Max's story told by close friend, Laura Fu.
Eulogies for Max by family and friends.
